Parts of Speech

Every word in English belongs to a category called a part of speech. Understanding these helps you write and speak correctly.

Nouns

A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea.

Types of Nouns

Pronouns

Example: Chidi went to school. He was late. (He replaces Chidi)

Personal Pronouns

I, you, he, she, it, we, they, me, him, her, us, them
